Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was among the first Russian composers to achieve lasting international recognition, known for ballets including Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, as well as symphonies, concertos and piano music such as The Seasons. He studied and later taught at the Moscow Conservatory.
